As a fun way to wrap up our year, students will be working in pairs to create their own game boards that teach a skill we learned in math this year. We will be working on these projects each day in class and then on May 25th and 29th we will play one another's games! I'm so excited to see how creative they get! I'll post the project below so that you can see the due dates and how your child will be graded.
Hello wonderful families! Wanted to let you know that next week we will still focus on Financial Literacy. As a fun culminating activity, students will be planning a vacation!!!! They will research and find a destination and plan their vacation with a BUDGET! I'm excited to see what they come up with.

Hello wonderful families! Sorry I am a little late in posting what we are doing this week. I've been soaking up the beautiful weather and spending as much time possible outdoors. I hope you have enjoyed the weather as well! This week we are continuing to focus on Financial Literacy. This is the last new unit for the year! After this, we will review, review, review!! Here is what we are doing this week.
MONDAY - Students will learn about types of expenses. Our focus will be on Fixed and Variable Expenses.
TUESDAY - Students will work on reviewing Elapsed Time (from last week) and will focus on Adding and Subtracting Money.
WEDNESDAY - Today students will learn about finding a profit. They will use the "formula" of Profit = Income - Expenses.
THURSDAY - Students will learn about different savings options.
FRIDAY - Students will learn how to budget a weekly allowance!

Hello wonderful families! This week we had a great week of reviewing Multiplication and Division and students to the SLO (student learning objective) assessment. Some students were absent today and others still need to finish the assessment, so I will have them work on that on Monday. Our next Unit is Financial Literacy. Here is what I have planned for the upcoming week:
MONDAY: Wrap up SLO assessment
TUESDAY: STAAR day! Please remember snacks, a water bottle, and layers in case students get cold. Students should leave any electronic devices, phones, or watches that make noise or have internet access at home. Please refer back to my email for other details.
WEDNESDAY: Today's focus will be elapsed time. Students will solve problems using elapsed time.
THURSDAY: Students will begin the Financial Literacy Unit. We will be learning about different kinds of expenses. Students will learn about and discover the difference between Fixed and Variable Expenses. Students will also learn about balances, deposits, and withdrawals.
FRIDAY: Students will learn how to calculate a profit. We use the formula of Profit = Income - Expenses
We won't have Centers next week because of the STAAR test. I will be out on Wednesday in order to take my daughter to the dentist. I look forward to seeing you at the FUN RUN on Saturday! Have a fantastic weekend!
Good morning wonderful families! I hope you are all having a wonderful week! This week we finished up our Measurement Unit and started reviewing Multiplication and Division. Students will take their Student Learning Objective Assessment on Friday, April 6th. This is the post-test for the Multiplication and Division pre-test that students took at the beginning of the year. It is a really great way for the students to see how far they have come in their problem solving and skills. Next week we will continue to review and practice skills that students have previously learned.
Monday: Focus today will be on Multipliying 2 digit by 2 digit numbers.
Tuesday: Focus today will be Multiplying 3 digit by 1 digit numbers.
Wednesday: Focus today will be on the Forgiving Method for division.
Thursday: Focus today will be on the Standard Algorithm for division.
Friday: Students will take the Student Learning Objective Assessment on Multiplication and Division.

TUESDAY: Today students will use Area and Perimeter formulas to problem solve.
WEDNESDAY: WESTCAVE FIELD TRIP (Weather permitting)
THURSDAY: Today students will be finding the errors of different area and perimeter problems.
FRIDAY: Wrap-Up and Catch-Up day! Students have been working really hard on Angle Birds May-Do projects. I hope to give them extra time to day to complete and share them.

Hello wonderful families! Thank you all so very much for attending Spring Conferences! I hope that you found the information useful. If you weren't able to attend, I will send home the forms to sign TOMORROW with your child. There is also a permission slip from Mr. Fanelli that needs to be completed in order to watch a movie in his class! Here is what I have planned for our short week! We are moving along in our Geometry unit and focusing now more on Measurement. This week, we will focus on Perimeter and Area.
MONDAY: CONFERENCE DAY!! Students should enjoy their day off!!
TUESDAY: Today students will learn the vocabulary that we will be using this week and next. Students will also look at different scenarios to see if you would need to calculate area or perimeter.
WEDNESDAY: Today students will compare and contrast area and perimeter by completing a Venn Diagram.
THURSDAY: Students will learn the formulas for finding area and perimeter.
FRIDAY: Students will look at irregular shapes and the measurements provided in order to calculate their area and perimeter.
We will continue centers and students can show you this week's menu on Google Classroom. They have really enjoyed using the chrome books during their Center Time!
